It's been ONE week. I sit here thinking after much preparation, thought, excitement, uncertainty, and emotion. Was this a GREAT choice for our family?!?!?!? I have come to the conclusion...YES! A God choice, a decision that will forever change my life, my path, my thinking! One that opened my eyes to bigger things, to greater places! Not just any exchange student, we were blessed. A world traveler, a smart and funny, yet intelligent, educated woman! A person with a love for God, a heart for people and a drive for life! I'm excited to journal and talk more about our year with Yi Ru!
A 36 year old Taiwan woman living in our home, we've opened our hearts, and our lives. This is the best decision I feel, we've ever made for OUR little family and for our children! (Paisley really thinks she has a new playmate, living in the next room over). The things I have learned from this woman in just ONE week. I've had late night talks over high class Taiwan tea, making fried rice or teaching me how to make french bread, her love for travel is inspiring! She has traveled 20 countries ALONE. Learning her culture has been enlightening and has me excited to experience life outside the U.S.
